Free crochet pattern of the day

Busy week this week. Having to visit Mother twice a day to change the dressing on her leg, poor dear.  Get Mr. P to take me when he can as The Beast is my best friend, but the weather is just too cold to enjoy him as much as I usually do.

Today there was sunshine and out of the wind it was quite spring like.  I popped into town to do some shopping for Mother, wished I had time to linger longer but had to speed off and see to Mother and then speed off again to have lunch with Pooky.  My eldest daughter is such fun company.  We try to have lunch together quite often as a treat.

Later I started to try to learn ripple stitch.  It seemed quite straightforward but I think there is just too much going on for me to cope with it at the moment so have decided to make a rainbow cushion cover based on this pattern here

From Little Tin Bird

The pattern can be made as large as you like and used for anything you can think of!

Tuesday 2 April 2013

Just one of those days when I am chasing my tail.  Anybody else have days like this?

The owl cushions are still haunting me, I messed up sewing up the first one, goodness knows how but his head ended up near his behind.  So a lot of unsewing up (well it should be a word) and I think I might have it done tonight...

Good news, as I have a lengthening list of todos (yes I am being creative with the words tonight)

I cannot wait to share more with you but tonight I only have time for a free pattern I pinned and hope you care to do the same.

Happy Easter

Having a lazy Sunday.  I am supposed to be sewing up cushions but as you can see I have
been tempted away by the internet.  I have moved the bag in preparation... hmmm..
so a quick free pattern today.  I made this doll for my daughter.  I made a rasta version using brown wool, giving him a rasta hat and dreadlocks.  I now have an order for two more.  Boy and girl rastas for a charming couple who are friends of hers.

The weather is much better today.  Sunshine!  Tikka the dog has been outside sunning herself until the sun can no longer compete with that wind chill factor and she returns to her bed by the radiator.

Off to Mother's later and I must remember to take the camera and capture the remaining snow on the hills.

t shirt yarn

Helped my mum put all her clothes away in her new wardrobe yesterday.  Always a fine chance for a sort out and I came away with a few hand me downs!  Plus a t-shirt that was badly stained.  I decided to take this and keep it until I have a chance to turn it into yarn.
There is a good tutorial for doing so here

Another project on my never ending to do list is crochet a lampshade cover.  I rather like the one  by

I had made owl cushion covers for my daughters and was in the process of sewing them up and
realised I had made a glaring error on one.  So I had to frog it and redo it.
Don't you just hate that when it happens!
So I just need to complete the head and then sew them up.
I hate sewing up, I never feel I do it justice and I tend to rush it.  So I need to slow down and pin it lots first.  Famous last words...

Free crochet pattern for dog coat

This is a special coat for two reasons.  One it is for a larger dog, and they need extra warmth at times too!  It is also created for a guide dog by its owner.
How inspiring is that.
